The discussion, moderated by author and former politician Sawsan Chebli, highlighted Qatar’s pivotal role in fostering international peace and stability. Dr. Al Khulaifi reaffirmed Qatar\u2019s commitment to dialogue and mediation, providing a neutral platform for conflict resolution. He also addressed key regional issues, including the Syrian crisis, where HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit aimed to strengthen strategic ties with Syria after years of suffering under the previous regime.<\/p>\n
Discussing Qatar\u2019s mediation efforts in Gaza, HE Dr. Al Khulaifi emphasized the challenges in maintaining the ceasefire, citing distrust between the parties and the worsening humanitarian situation. He stressed that successful mediation requires strong international commitment to peace. Regarding international law, he warned of increasing threats to global stability due to the weakening of international judicial institutions and underscored Qatar\u2019s stance that non-compliance with international law obstructs true justice.<\/p>\n
HE Dr. Al Khulaifi also addressed Lebanon\u2019s political situation, considering the resolution of the presidential vacancy a positive step towards stability. He reiterated Qatar\u2019s continued support for Lebanon and its commitment to fostering security. In discussing Afghanistan, he emphasized that sustainable stability is achieved through dialogue.
