The Divan Centre is a young think tank in Berlin. Organizing political and economic events as well as publishing studies, the Divan Centre focuses on geopolitical issues and contributes to mutual understanding between the Arab and European worlds.

Political Relevance
Financial support from the Embassy of Qatar ensures the independence of the Divan Centre. The Divan Centre acts completely independently in setting priorities, selecting topics and dealing with current events. The decisive factors are the political relevance and the need to classify current developments through analyses, background discussions and well-founded debates.
In terms of content, the Divan Center deals with current political and diplomatic, economic and social international issues, especially in European and Arab societies, on both sides, taking into account the heterogeneity of the societies.
Open for cooperation
The Divan Center is open to cooperation with other institutions, especially think tanks, foundations, NGOs and established international discussion forums.
Based in Berlin
The seat of the Divan Centre is the Divan – the Arab culture house – is the Villa Calé in Berlin-Zehlendorf, Schützallee 27, 14169 Berlin. Venues are the Divan – the Arab Culture House – as well as top-ranked hotels, the Bundespressekonferenzhaus (Schiffbauerdamm 40. 10117 Berlin) and other established forums in major German cities.

The Chatham House Rule applies to most events at the Divan Centre. Accordingly, the content treated may be reported on, but without naming sources and without citations. This confidential framework promotes open opinion and exchange of ideas.
